The Eagle Feather

The eagle when seen in flight meant good luck to those fortunate enough to see our relative in flight. When we see the eagle in flight we offer a small amount of tobacco and say HI YE’ to acknowledge him and thank the eagle.
The feathers worn by an individual are earned through good and respectful deeds done for another human being. When enough feathers are bestowed on an individual then he can fashion those into a headdress.
The real eagle feathers can only be used by the Native American people for religious purposes and must be obtained from a medicine man.
